On-site Alerts automatically notify you via a push notification to your mobile device whenever a team member arrives at a job site. This feature enhances job site awareness, improves team coordination, and adds a layer of safety to your projects.
While the push notifications are received on mobile devices, the configuration for these alerts is managed by an administrator through the BuilderPad browser app.
Requirements for On-site Alerts to Work
For the system to detect when a user arrives at a job site, two conditions must be met:
The user must have the BuilderPad mobile app installed on their device.
The user must have their device's location services enabled and set to "Always Allow" for the BuilderPad app in order for this feature to work automatically and properly.
Please Note:
Enabling the location to always be allowed may increase your battery usage.
If you wish to disable the option you can, and BuilderPad will prompt you to re-enable the Location settings on your device any time you open the app. But in this case you would need to remember to open the app once you have reached the job site.
How to Configure On-site Alerts (For Admins)
These steps will show you how to configure your Push Notifications in the Users & Roles section of your account.
From the BuilderPad mobile app, click on your profile image in the top right corner and select Users and Roles from the dropdown menu.

Then, navigate to the Roles tab.
Find the role that you want to receive the notifications for
(for example, the 'Employee' or any custom role such as 'Project Manager') and tap the 3-dotted menu icon.
Tap on the Edit option in the Actions menu that appeared to edit the notifications and permissions for the specific role. In the "Edit Role" screen, open the Push Notifications section.

Scroll down and locate the On-site Alerts setting and ensure it is set to Visible.
You can select the Roles option to view and manage who will receive the notification for On-Site Alerts. Check the box next to each role that you want to trigger an on-site alert for. |
For example, if you are editing the 'Employee' role, checking the box for 'Employee' means Admins will get an alert every time a user with the 'Employee' role arrives at a job site.

Tap on Save at the bottom of the screen to apply your changes.
You can view a quick representation on how to access the Users & Roles β Push Notifications β On-site Alerts section below:

Please Note:
Browser App Management: For more information about setting up user permissions via the Browser app mode, please see this article: Managing Users
Mobile Only: On-site alerts are a feature for mobile app only, as they rely on location services to function.
Improved Accuracy: For best results, we recommend pairing this feature with our Enhanced GPS option. Learn more here: Enabling the Enhanced GPS Feature
That's it! You're now ready to stay informed with real-time On-site Alerts.
Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing who is on the job! π²
